Dr. Adam Stevens

Meet our founder
Throughout his distinguished career in education, Dr. Stevens has served in a range of roles. His journey began as a teacher at Frederick Douglass Academy in Harlem, New York. He soon became an assistant principal of both a middle school and a high school, each serving socially marginalized communities. Simultaneously, he served as an adjunct professor of history and education at the City University of New York (CUNY).
Today, Dr. Stevens serves as principal of a public school in Washington Heights, New York. His work is defined not only by his roles but by his passion for social justice — striving to provide access to quality education and growth opportunities for every student.
His dedication and advocacy shape the communities he serves — molding the future not only of individual students, but of society.


A product of New York City public schools and the Fieldston Enrichment Program at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School, he went on to Brooks School in North Andover, Massachusetts. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College, holds two master's degrees and a Doctorate, and carries a genuine passion for teaching and academic excellence.
Dr. Stevens is from Ghana, West Africa, and enjoys traveling the world, reading, research, meditation, mindfulness and serving his community. He is married to Gigi and is the proud father of two marvelous boys — Justice and Legend.
